AL-IRSHAAD CORRESPONDENCE COURSE POLICIES

 The following are Al-Irshaad policies Inshaa Allaah. The student is advised to go through them thoroughly.

Communication with the Student:

It is mandatory for the student to give us a mobile number that he or she can be reached at (and if the mobile number changes we should be intimated, Likewise the change of address should also be updated). This mobile number will be used to communicate information to the student. Whenever we send postal mail, we will be sending an SMS to him/her intimating him/her of the pending postal mail. In case of non-receipt of the postal mail, the student should contact us.

Evaluation and Passing Criteria:

Each level will have an assignment (20% weightage), a contact class (20% weightage) and an exam (80% weightage). To clear a level, the student should secure 40 marks out of 80 in the exam. However those who do not clear a level will be sent the study material for the next level, and will be allowed to take the exams of the next levels Inshaa Allaah.The student will be allotted the greater of the two marks obtained for contact class and the assignment (for the remaining 20% weightage). The contact class marks will consist of 10 marks for attendance – which includes marks for punctuality. The other 10 marks will be allotted for a quiz that will be conducted on the day of the contact class. The questions of the quiz will be based on the syllabus covered in the contact class, and will be fairly easy questions Inshaa Allaah.

Absence or Failure in a Level:

In the case of absence from the exam of any level, the student should intimate Al-Irshaad management about the reason for his absence prior to the exam. In the case of failure in the exam or absence from the exam of a particular level, the student can take the exam for that level the next time it is conducted. The approximate time of exams for the four levels will be July beginning – August end, October end - November beginning, January end  -  February beginning and April end – May beginning Inshaa Allaah (exact date will be announced later Inshaa Allaah).The normal period of completion of the course is one year. If the student does not complete the course in that duration then he will be allowed to take the arrear exams on payment of Rs 50/- per appearance. He or she will have to clear the arrear exams within two years after the normal duration of the course to get the certificate.

Assignments:

The student will be sent the assignment by post. The assignment will be built in and the answers should be written in the space provided. It should then be sent to Al-Irshaad Institute by the due date. Assignments should not be sent by e-mail. Assignments will be corrected immediately after the due date and sent back to the students. No attempt will be made to correct the assignments after the due date. Students (especially those outside Chennai) are requested to send the assignments well before the due date so that it reaches us in time. The solutions to selected assignments and corrected assignments shall be returned to the student by post Inshaa Allaah.

Issuance of Certificate:

A certificate containing the percentage marks obtained by the student shall be issued on clearance of all four levels Inshaa Allaah.

 Change in Policies:

Al-Irshaad Institute reserves the right to change any of its policies. Any change shall be intimated to the student in the normal period of completion of the course. They will also be posted on the website Inshaa Allaah.
